Welcome to stem summer service
Students today want to engage in service but aren’t always sure where to start. Those who can afford it often book expensive service trips.
STEM Summer Service is a website with the resources students need to create their own STEM Summer Program. If you are a student, you can use these resources to run a program in your own school, in your neighborhood, for your siblings, or wherever you see a need and want to go.
As two families, we adapted and developed these resources in 2023 to run STEM programs for high school students in The Gambia. We ran our program for about 4 hours per day and regrouped at the end of each day to figure out how to make it better. We also had more fun than you could imagine.
We hope you will find value in these resources and use them to bring STEM sunshine into the summer breaks of students.
Warm regards,
The Nasser-Ghodsi family (Rusty, Navid, Christine, Kayvan)
our Approach
our inspiration
Learning is a choice - and it has to be fun. This is especially true in out-of-school programs.
Learning is never one-size-fits all. Change our materials. Create new resources. Connect with us and let us know what you’ve done.
Great learning opportunities don’t have to be expensive. We’ve adapted resources to help you keep costs down.
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Only one member of our team was an educator. After our workshop everyday, we made changes to improve what we were doing.
